Counselling Training (continued)Conscire Training SchemeThe counselling training offered by Conscire is in line with CPCAB qualification levels (see below), ranging from the introductory to the diploma level. The outline of the training scheme is as follows: (GLH stands for Guided Learning Hours, referring to the number of taught hours on each course)
Conscire training courses are run according to BACP guidelines with regard to number of training hours, but are not BACP accredited training courses at this time. The Awarding BodyThe Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) is a specialised awarding body offering a range of vocationally-related qualifications in the field of counselling and related areas. CPCAB has designed a set of progression routes that move through a coherent series of qualifications that set out what trainees need to learn in order to provide progressively more in-depth levels of helping work, therapeutic counselling and supervision. CPCAB has given approval for Conscire to carry out counselling training, and to use Conscire's own course material for the Introduction to Counselling Skills course (pending). On registering for the course, students will receive a pack from the CPCAB, which provides information on the awarding body, as well as information regarding assessment requirements and the necessary paperwork. Students are advised to read through these documents in order to familiarise themselves with the awarding body's requirements for this qualification. Course TutorsAll Conscire tutors are qualified counsellors to Diploma level with considerable experience in the counselling and teaching field. All tutors are deemed suitably qualified by the CPCAB for the courses that they teach. In addition, tutors are required to attend standardisation training with the CPCAB, and to have in place a system of internal moderation. |
